I-SITE FUTURE: Inventing the cities of tomorrow

The scientific and institutional project on the city of tomorrow, sustainable city, FUTURE (French University on Urban Research and Education) is led by Gustave Eiffel University.

It is structured around three challenges: the natural and energy resource efficient city, the safe and resilient city, and the smart city at the service of the citizen.

INTERNATIONAL

I-SITE FUTURE has two strategic axes:

  • Creating and running a European network on urban issues
  • Internationalise education and research

Three key actions

  • International League on Sustainable Cities
Co-construction and coordination of an international network involving 10 high-level academic institutions. With a clear and systemic positioning on the city of tomorrow, these institutions are supported by major global metropolises and have experimental tools at their disposal.

  • Head of the European network of National Information Points (NIPs) on the city
The NIP has been created around the theme of Cities in order to disseminate information, raise awareness of European good practice and influence strategic discussions at the European level.

  • Institute of Advanced Studies on Cities
Of international calibre, it provides senior managers (public and local institutions, associations, NGOs, companies) with paying life-long learning courses on key information and the challenges of tomorrow’s sustainable cities.
